It seems that Mother Nature has her own idea of when Summer is going to happen in Seattle. My daughter Quincy, just turned two last week and we had planned a little party planned for her. We headed up to World Market (one of my favorite stores to browse) to get some goodies for her party. I had done some pre-shopping on line the night before so I knew what to expect, and I already had a mental list.
If you’ve never been in a World Market before, let’s just say you are missing out. I love that if I want to find something to brighten up my home or yard, I KNOW I can find it at World Market. And don’t get me started on their chocolate selection (which could be another post it it’s entirety)
There was so many fun things to look at. I walked around and picked all of the things on my list: Paper Lanterns, an indoor/outdoor rug, a fun serving dish and an ice bucket. I decided to look for a pitcher to make lemonade, and Quincy had other ideas of what dishware she wanted me to buy.
I got Quincy her glass, and found a gorgeous red ceramic drink dispenser on sale! Woot!
In addition to an amazing selection of merchandise, World Market has this great promotion going on right now until July 13th that you will want to take advantage of.
It’s the Buy and Fly in Store promotion. When you make a $20 or more purchase in the store you will receive a 15% off coupon for Southwest Airlines to purchase a flight anywhere Southwest Airlines flies!
Make sure you enter The Summer Getaway Sweepstakes. Each week during the sweepstakes World Market is giving away a trip for 4 anywhere Southwest Flies, including hotel accommodations and a $500 World Market gift card. Promotions run from June 16 – July 13
I have my voucher ready to go – and that’s a good thing – I need to buy some plane tickets this week!
We got everything home and I started prepping for her party. Wouldn’t you know it, it POURED. I mean buckets! There would be no adorable paper lanterns in my backyard this weekend. With the exception of a few breaks where the kids played in the mud, the party remained indoors (that’s another story, as we are remodeling too- we just bought our house last month)
So yesterday afternoon, despite the showers, I set up an impromptu Backyard BBQ for my family with my goodies from World Market. Won’t this look cute once I have a real patio? Pay no attention to the total chaos on the other side of the chainlink fence. I should probably buy a patio screen next time I’m at World Market huh?
I cannot WAIT to go back to World Market and get a few more things for my backyard. I saw some beautiful umbrellas too, and of course MORE lanterns! It’s going to be a great summer!
