Bistro Boxes from @Starbucks – MMM Delicious {Review}

Before heading to the zoo this morning we stopped by our local Starbucks for lunch. More specifically, their Bistro Boxes. We wanted lunches that were both convenient and nutritious.

The Starbucks Cooler

These eight new Bistro Boxes have less than 500 calories – whether you opt for the snack or entrée size – and each box contains daily essentials of protein, vegetables, fruits and whole grains. The full selection includes favorites like Cheese & Fruit and Chicken & Hummus, as well as new varieties like Chipotle Chicken Wraps and Sesame Noodles.

Choosing was tough!

Let me tell you, it was really hard to choose – everything looked so delicious. I loved that the resealable boxes clearly showed the contents – and even included an ingredient list so I confirm exactly what was inside. I can’t say that about the competition, who often hides half their box behind wasteful cardboard packaging (another clue maybe they aren’t so fresh!!)

Since the Bistro Boxes were going to be enjoyed by myself and my family (which includes my husband, 3 1/2 year old son and 1 year old daughhter) I selected the Sesame Noodles Bistro Box, the Protein Bistro Box and the Chicken and Hummus Bistro Box.

Our delicious lunch from Starbucks!

I’m gonna say I was pleasantly surprised. It can be tough to get quick and easy meals on the go that are nutritious and taste good! I should also mention they were really affordable! The snack Bistro Boxes were $4.95 and the Entree portion was $7.95. We would easily spend that (or more) at a local fast food joint and it wouldn’t be nearly has healthy and would have lots of chemicals!

The Protein Bistro Box

My husband says “It’s the quality I come to expect from Starbucks. I eat their sandwiches from time to time for lunch. It’s a good quantity of food, the flavors are nice and balanced.”

My son enjoying his apple.

My son loved the fruit in the Protein Bistro Box and kept asking for more!

The Bistro Boxes from Starbucks are now at the top of our list when we are out and we need a bite to eat. We know that the meals will contain fresh ingredients that we feel good giving to our children.

My only request? I’d love to see a Gluten-Free Bistro Box!

  1. Happy to read this review! I’ve been wanting to try the Bistro Boxes, but haven’t had a chance yet. I’m more likely to do so now that I know you guys enjoyed them so much. Interesting side note: the Protein box actually has the lowest grams of protein out of all of the boxes. Weird, huh? It’s still a nice combo of food for kids though. Thanks for the review!
