Right now I’m in the middle of a very important project. I’m raising funds for suicide prevention. To be more specific, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
A couple of months ago,my friend Cristi created some original art that she titled the “Butterfly Blogger” and then created t-shirts to sell to benefit the AFSP. 40-50% of the purchase price of these shirts will go directly to the charity (depending on style).
This original art represents the many many hats we as bloggers and social media influencers wear in our daily lives.
So where is the money going?
Each year the AFSP hosts a national fundraising walk called the “Out of the Darkness Overnight.” Its a 16-18 mile walk literally from dusk till dawn. Cristi did it last year in Washington DC, and this year it is being hosted in Seattle (where I live). But have no fear the money is used for national suicide prevention programs.
Cristi has encouraged me and Ashley of Crunchy Frugalista to do the walk with her. We’ve all been touched by suicide and want to do our part. Cristi is generously supporting Ashley and I in our fundraising efforts. We have to raise a minimum of $1,000 to walk and Ashley and In are not there yet. We are also selling the Butterfly Blogger shirts to benefit our walk fundraising. If you buy a shirt and write one of our names in the “Who referred you to this fundraiser?” category on the pre-order form, one of us will get 50% of the shirt’s profits for their fundraising. (Thanks Cristi!)
How to Order?
- Go HERE and place a pre-order. (You do not have to pay at this time.)
- When we accumulate a minimum number of orders, Cristi will contact you with a PayPal money request, and the shirts will be ordered at that time.
- Approximately 1-2 weeks later your shirt will ship to you!
