I love Robin Williams, so I was so excited to hear that Dead Poets Society was now available on Blu-Ray! This is such an inspirational film that if you haven’t seen it already, I really encourage you to pick up a copy today and go watch it!
On January 17th, Buena Vista Home Entertainment releases DEAD POETS SOCIETY and GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM: 25th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray Hi-Def for the first time! Academy Award winner Robin Williams delivers two unforgettable performances- one comedic and one dramatic- in these digitally re-matered classics. Bonus material includes behind-the-scenes interviews, commentaries, and production diaries.
It’s no surprise this classic film won an Academy Award, well, that Robin Williams did for Best Supporting Actor. Starring Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting); Ethan Hawke (Training Day); Robert Sean Leonard (TV’s “House”) I remember this film well when I first say it in the late 80s and it was great to see it again.
Taking place at Welton Academy, where for years students are used to conformity and tradition, a new professor rocks the boat and encourages the students to think for themselves and “Carpe Diem”. It’s truly an unforgettable film worth a place in your Blu-Ray collection.
Bonus features include: “Dead Poets: A Look Back” featuring interview footage with Director Peter Weir, Ethan Hawke, Robert Sean Leonard and many others; “Raw Takes;” “Master of Sound: Alan Splet” – interviews with David Lynch And Peter Weir; “Cinematography Master Class” – an intensive and inspirational lighting workshop with Cinematographer John Seale; “Audio Commentary” with Director Peter Weir, Cinematographer John Seale and Writer Tom Schulman; and the “Theatrical Trailer.”
