Delicious Dreyer’s Ice Cream. #ReasontoSmile

A reason to smile
We love ice cream. Love it. If our freezer doesn’t have at least one half gallon of Dreyer’s Slow Churned Ice Cream in it, something is missing. The real bonus? It’s half the fat, and one-third fewer calories without sacrificing a creamy and delicious flavor. I promise. So we’ve been enjoying delicious ice cream, guilt free. The only problem is, our kids like it too, so we have to share.

A reason to smile

Sharing Mint Chocolate Chip Dreyer’s Slow Churned Ice Cream with her Daddy, it’s his favorite flavor.

I just returned from BlogHer, and when I was there, I attended the Social Luxe Slow Churned Lounge. Their big sponsor of course was Dreyer’s Slow Churned Ice Cream (Edy’s if you’re east of the Rockies) and I learned about this really terrific campaign, A Reason to Smile! Why is this such a big deal? Well, actress and model Brooke Burke has partnered with Dreyer’s™ Slow Churned® Light Ice Cream to give away more than 25,000 free scoops of ice cream…turning scoops into smiles!

Here’s how it works:

For every “ice cream smile” photo uploaded to Dreyer’s Facebook page, $5 will be donated to Operation Smile, an international children’s medical charity.
• The goal is to give away more than 25,000 scoops of ice cream, capture 25,000 photos of ice cream smiles before summer’s end.
• These efforts will help deliver more than 500 reconstructive surgeries to children around the globe suffering from cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities.
• Of the photos submitted, ten lucky smiles will be featured in a Dreyer’s Slow Churned print ad.
• One lucky picture will win a coveted spot on the cartons of a Slow Churned limited-edition flavor, being re-introduced to store shelves in early 2013.

If giving a child a smile isn’t a reason to smile, I am not sure what is! And if there is ice cream involved, I don’t see how you could go wrong!

A Reason to Smile

A boy and his ice cream. He would barely hold still long enough for me to take a picture, hence the blur. 🙂

So, depending on where you live, head over to the Dreyer’s or Edy’s Facebook pagem and upload your smile. You’ll be contributing to a great campaign!

So how about it? Will you give a child a reason to smile?

Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Dreyer’s / Edy’s. I received a coupon to purchase product samples and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

  1. Dreyer is the favorite in our house. My fav is Butter Pecan, Son’s fav is Mint Chocolate Chip. Ice Cream on a hot summer day alway makes you smile!

  2. What a great program and easy way to help others. thanks for sharing

  3. Dreyer has a lot of great different flavors, kinda hard to choose my favorite, although I do like chocolate almond.

  4. yum.. love some Dreyers Ice Cream. I have many favorites.. so I guess they would not be favorite. There is very little I don’t like in ice cream. Its great for a hot summer AZ day.
