Disney salutes National Aviation History Month #DisneyPlanesBlogger

Disney provided me with a trip to Los Angeles to visit Disney Toons Studios. Most expenses were paid however all thoughts and experiences are my own.

National Aviation Month

November is National Aviation History Month, which means it’s the perfect time for Planes to be released on Blu-Ray and DVD (November 19th). During the month of November select aviation museums will feature “PLANES”-inspired learning materials designed to introduce children to the exhilarating world of flight and its most celebrated figures. For more information on participating museums, please visit the Planes Facebook page.

What’s so cool about Planes, and why we love it so much is that the creators studied (and flew) REAL planes for inspiration and to make sure that the planes in the film flew accurately. From taking off to landing, they made sure every detail was correct.  In the sky, they wanted to make sure that Dusty and his friends flew like, well, planes. On the ground, they still paid attention to the little details – like planes have wings not arms, so while they are “alive” they still don’t have the same traits humans do. Thankfully, we have Dottie and the pit crew, right? That’s just one of the many reasons I love Disney.

Throughout our nation’s history, the world of flight has given us such influential role models as the Wright Brothers, Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart, all famous aviators who proved that, no matter how high their dreams, with imagination, hard work and perseverance, anything is possible.

Don’t forget to pre-order Planes on Blu-Ray so you’re ready to take flight on November 19.

Have you seen Planes yet? Who is your favorite plane?
