Do you have a Boys & Girls Club in your neighborhood? @BGCA_Clubs

Do you have a Boys & Girls Club in your neighborhood? Do you know what they are about? Did you know it’s about ALL kids, not just low income, special needs or some other select group? In fact, for more than 100 years, Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA) has provided kids with a safe haven and fun, highly engaging activities to help them develop the creativity and confidence necessary to succeed in school.

As you prepare your child for Back to School, be sure to check out the Tools for Back to School initiative from Boys and Girls Club of America and Disney. The initiative features a pop-quiz style game, where supplies are donated to BGCA for every correct answer you score. Pretty cool, huh? Take a few moments, get the kids, and play!

In addition, during the month of August, BGCA has also partnered with jcpenney – join jcp cares and round up your purchase at the register to benefit BGCA. Make sure to visit jcpenney during your back to school shopping and round up!

Still need tips? Check out the “Get Ready” checklist on the left side of the Boys and Girls Club site. From Time Management to College Prep, you’ll find lots of useful information for your family.

Are you on Twitter? Mom Central will be hosting a Boys and Girls Twitter Party on Thursday, August 23rd from 3-4 PM EST!

What are you waiting for! See if there’s a Boys and Girls Club in your area today, and start giving back!

  1. I know the main one around here closed a few years back – I hope there is another one somewhere in town!

  2. Thanks for sharing the opportunity to help donate supplies. great organization

  3. I have always known about the Boys and Girls club, but never really went there. I will have to check it out as my boys get older. I am not sure where one is near me, but I will have to look.

  4. I didn’t know the Boys and Girls Club was for all economic backgrounds. I still do believe that it is great for any child/student to be there after school to get involved. Being in something like this allows for their self-esteem to grow.

  5. I actually didn’t know they were everyone either! I wish there was a program nearby for me to take my son and possibly even volunteer!

  6. I will have to check it out as my boys get older. I am not sure where one is near me, but I will have to look.

  7. My oldest will be attending some dance classes this year. I was very glad that they didn’t ask for anything when I signed up.

  8. Trasina McGahey says:

I think it’s a GREAT club. I have known some children who were in it and they loved it. They offer so many activities and keep them busy and out of trouble!

  9. My niece & nephews love our local club. They use it everyday for after school & on the days when school is not in session or they are not here at my house.

  10. I don’t know if we do or not, will have to check it out! Thanks for the info on donating to them as well!

  11. Talon Camren says:

I know about it and looking very deeply their progress. Now a days it’s very simple and natural. Everything is like good.

We do not have a Boys & Girls Club near us, I wish we did. It would be nice to have something like that for the kids in our community.
