This is my 40th year (YIKES)and I’m putting my foot down. No more lofty resolutions. No more guilt. No more worrying about setting myself up for goals I’m likely to fail.

Let’s face it, I bet most of us set new years resolutions because it’s society’s expectation that we do. I get that people equate the beginning of a new year with a fresh start, but if the goal is to lead a healthier lifestyle or make a change for ourselves, do we really need to wait until January to do that?

Clearly making new years resolutions can’t be all that effective if 75% of the people that make them break them within the first week. Come on people, that’s just ridiculous.

Let’s take a stand, and stop using the new year as a motivator. If we need to make a change, being a better us should be all the motivation we need!

This year, I’m going to think of my resolution is more of a spring cleaning. A gradual change and improvement. Much more obtainable, right? It would be easy to say I’m going to start with exercise (because doesn’t everyone?) but instead, it’s more self care.

Self care like taking time away for me that does’t involve grocery shopping. Going to get my hair done without my toddler in tow. Getting a facial.  More time for myself. More time with my girl friends. I find I’m a much better mom and spouse if I make the time for self care, so this year, I’m doing more of it. Self care is so important!!

Now, since some of my gal pals DID make resolutions to get fit, I’m going to introduce them to Brancott Estate Flight Song Wine. It has 20% less calories then similar selections of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio. Less calories mean less guilt for them (and me since I’m bringing them the gift of wine)

Brancott Estate was the first to plant and create the world’s first Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc wine— a style that has since changed the course of our country’s wine industry.

About the wines:
The Brancott Estate Flight Song Sauvignon Blanc presents fragrant pink grapefruit and passionfruit notes on the nose. These aromas are followed by a sweet pungency and ripe lemon acidity that excite the palate, and a fresh, crisp and lively finish.

On the nose the Brancott Estate Flight Song Pinot Grigio displays an array of floral notes with apple and Nashi pear, complimented by white peach and guava flavors. These fresh fruit flavors combine on the palate, with ripe ‘golden delicious’ apple like acidity to create balance.

What will your non resolution be this year? How will you enjoy the new Brancott Estate Flight Song wine?
