Easter Memories start with Paas.

I’ve been dying Easter Eggs with Paas tablets and Heinz Vinegar for as long as I remember. We won’t get into how long that is, but it’s long enough. 🙂

Now that my kids, well, at least Sebby, are old enough to “get it” we’re starting up the tradition again. The same faithful tablets, the little wire dippers that you bend “just right” and of course, the vinegar.

It’s an evening of crayons, stickers, alternative uses for drinking glasses and of course, dyed finger tips. And it’s fun.

The perfect dyed Easter Egg starts with perfectly hard cooked eggs. Some people will tell you to punture your eggs and blow the yolks out (I’ve done that too) so your kids can enjoy their creations longer, but to me, a hard cooked egg is just sturdier and more resilient for not so patient kids. Plus, hard cooked eggs mean egg salad. That is, unless after you dye your eggs you use them for an Easter Egg Hunt. (Please don’t eat eggs that have been out in the sun)

Hard cooked eggs, ready to color!

And so the fun begins! We’ve prepped our eggs and now it’s time to make a mess! YAY! I only had 6 glasses, so we chose 6 of our favorite colors out of the 9 tablets that Paas provides in the kit. We had one egg casualty that cracked when boiling – it invariably happens! Poor little egg. (But snack for me! Yum!)

Our colorful eggs, and Sebby's egg on the app!

Sebby’s had a BLAST with the new “Egg Decorator” app too! He’s gone crazy “dying” eggs without even knowing it’s for a good cause! For every egg “dyed” on the app, Heinz & PAAS will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, up to $25,000. Please consider downloading it too! You’ll have fun!
