Fashion Tips for Moms

This fashion tips for moms post is made possible by a Monroe and Main Review/Giveaway, which is part of a Fashionista Events opportunity. Clothing/accessories were provided by Monroe and Main as noted below. Fashion Tips for Moms - The Maven of Social Media #review I’ll fully admit, a year ago I’d probably last person you’d be asking for fashion tips for moms. Even though I was a fashion major in college (seriously) I was self-admittedly lacking some serious style. Most days I live in my jeans, Danskos and t-shirts. But now that my oldest is starting Kindergarten, I needed to find some mom style. I couldn’t be “that mom” in the pick-up line, right?

Then I discovered Monroe and Main this fall. Stylish and affordable clothing I could mix in with my existing wardrobe to create a practical look that could take me from picking up my son to a night out with the girls.

Monroe and Main has nothing short of an incredible collection of clothing for women from size 6-24. Sometimes as moms we don’t wear clothing that fits as well as it could. The right fit is so important and can make or break an outfit. Check out the Monroe and Main sizing guide to find your perfect fit.

Don’t miss all of the fabulous accessories – some of their purses are just stunning! Sometimes it’s the accessories that really make the outfit. Your favorite jeans (that fit!) and plain t-shirt can go from boring to WOW with a gorgeous scarf and dangly earrings.

And did I mention the shoes? Monroe and Main has fabulous shoes too. From simple ankle boots to fuzzy kitten slippers (no joke!) There’s something for all tastes. Just a side note – you’re not allowed to wear the kitten slippers in public. BIG Fashion tip for moms there. DO NOT WEAR SLIPPERS TO PICK UP YOUR KIDS FROM THE BUS STOP.

Check out this great outfit I put together Monroe and Main and some things I already had in my closet – including my favorite pair of jeggins! Fashion Tips for Moms - The Maven of Social Media  Can I just say how much I’m loving my new faux leather bag? Aside from being super cute I can store lots of kid essentials in it – that’s one of my favorite pieces of advice – being a mom doesn’t mean you have to carry a bag with teddy bears and hippos on it. Really.

The Gold Feather Foil Tee? Not my usual style but I decided to take a chance on it – and I love it. It’s flatters my figure so well and since the sleeves are 3/4 it’s perfect for my long arms. I’ve only worn it with jeans, but I think it could look dynamite with a pencil skirt. Hmmm.

I took a chance on the gold toned medallion jewelry too, at the encouragement of my friend Leanne. I’m glad I did – the pieces are light and fun and really complete my look. Fashion Tips for Moms - The Maven of Social Media Ordering from Monroe and Main is so easy – the site is well organized and it didn’t take me long to find MORE than I wanted to buy. They also have a credit program (which I did not apply for) if you want to do a little extra shopping.

My purchased arrived quickly and I’m very impressed with the quality. I now have a few great simple pieces in my closet that make me feel more hip and less like a mommy! I’m all ready for girls night out – who’s going to call the sitter?! Oh yeah – that’s what hubby is for!
