Despite the degree in textiles, the endless classes in design I am only a closet fashionista. I don’t own crazy heels or have many “going out clothes” but there are times I want a little pizazz. 2014 is the year I take the bull by the horns with both fitness and fashion. So this means finding ways to meet my goals.

There are a lot of activity monitors on the market, and let’s be honest, so many of them are well, boring looking. There is no pizzazz. That sort of defeats the purpose of fitness AND fashion.

Luckily, Best Buy sent me Shine, an elegant activity monitor that helps me track my fitness goals through an app on my iPhone 5s. It’s sleek and low profile and even has a few different ways to wear it, depending on my fashion or fitness needs.

Shine is exclusively available in additional colors at Best Buy including Silver, Black, Champagne and Topaz.

Shine Features:

Shine is a gorgeous device that will empower people to be more proactive about their personal health.

What I like about Shine is I can put it on and forget about it. With my hectic schedule and three kids, this is a very good thing. I don’t even have to take it off when I shower, or bathe the kids or do dishes. That’s a real plus for this work at home mom.

I also totally geek out on how the clock feature works on Shine. By tapping the device twice, I can not only tell how I’m doing on my daily goals, but I can also find out what time it is by the pattern of the flashing lights. That’s pretty neat.

Did I mention that Shine also tracks sleep patterns? Now, I still get up quite often with my youngest son, but I don’t always look at the clock. But Shine? Shine knows. Which is good and bad, right? I guess the good thing is I like knowing my sleep will improve at some point.

For now though, I’m going to start setting my fitness and fashion goals, and they start with Shine.
