How We Fueled Our Summer Adventure

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Albertsons and Safeway. The opinions and text are all mine.

summer road trip - badlandsThe end of July was an epic adventure for Alan and I. My mom moved to Seattle, WA at the beginning of the month from the Eastern Shore of MD. You can’t move a household in her truck, so this meant that Alan and I had to fly to Maryland to pack the remainder of her things in a small moving truck and take a summer road trip. A vacation. Sort of.
Buying road trips snacks
Before we started our journey BACK across the country we stopped at the Safeway I grew up shopping at in Walkersville, Maryland for some much needed road trip snacks. I love that I can not only shop at my Seattle store at home, but at the Safeway store in my hometown for so many great snacks! Be sure to check out these great products at your local Albertsons Companies family stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Shaw’s, Star Market, United Supermarkets and Market Street.

Our trip itinerary covered about 3000 miles, so we needed some serious snacks to fuel our summer adventure. The plan was to stop at a lot of cool landmarks and national parks. When you’re driving across the country, there’s so much to see and do! It’s actually impossible to see it all unless you have a lot of time, and a lot of snacks.

We planned the following stops, to name a few:
Columbus OH (to visit my husband’s family)
The House on the Rock (Spring Green, WI)
The Jolly Green Giant Statue (Blue Earth, MN)
Corn Palace (Mitchell, SD)
Badlands National Park (Interior, SD)
Crazy Horse Mountain Memorial (Custer, SD)
Mount Rushmore (Keystone, SD)
The Mammoth Site (Hot Springs, SD)
Devils Tower (Devils Tower, WY)
Little Bighorn Battlefield (Crow Agency, MT)

From an over 3 mile self-guided walking tour at The House on the Rock in Wisconsin to the Bad Lands of South Dakota and beyond, there’s a lot to see. The weather during our trip was HOT, and I’m super thankful we picked up a case of Aquafina bottled water – because we needed it!
