“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Charmin. I received product samples and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

I can hardly believe it’s December 1st. What the heck happened to 2014? The tree is up, decorations are appearing around the house and I’m making lists of cookies to bake. I need to get the house ready for guests, both expected and unexpected. Whether it’s lighting a candle or stocking up on extra toilet paper, I do what I can do get ready.

Since it’s the time of year for lots of company, there are things you can do to make your life a little easier and a little less stressful.

1.) Impromptu party food
Keep an extra box of “fancy” crackers and some cheese and sausage. I’m a big fan of the Hickory Farms sets, but you can use anything you’d like. It’s nice to have something you can quickly pull out if you have unexpected company, and it’s a bonus if you like to eat it too!

2.) Holiday Music
Whether it’s on your laptop, your phone and speaker doc or on your TV, holiday music always sets the mood. I’ve even borrowed music from the library.

3.) Decorations
Now, I go all out. Tree. Elf on the Shelf. Musical singing animals. But a simple wreath on your door is still very inviting. But if you do have a tree, consider a special ornament. Hehe

4.) Scents
Remember that wreath? If it’s the real thing, you have this part covered. If not, get a candle or wax warmer in your favorite holiday scent. Another trick is a few drops of vanilla extract in water simmering on the stove.

5.) The Bathroom
We have a small house with a tiny bathroom. It sees a lot of action with our family of five. Add holiday visitors to the mix and our plumbing could go on overload. No good. Luckily, Charmin ensures my plumbing will stay clog-free even during the busiest of times, such as the holiday season. They’ve partnered with Roto-Rooter to remind consumers of the clog-free and septic-safe guarantee that only comes with Charmin. Roto-Rooter plumbers recommend Charmin more than any other brand. Did you know if your toilet clogs from Charmin toilet tissue you can get your money back?

Make sure you buy some extra rolls of Charmin, and while you’re at it, add some festive touches. A fun bathmat and some decorative hand towels will cheer your bathroom right up!

What advice do you have to make unexpected holiday guests easier?
