Happy Birthday Edison! #DisneySide

Sorry little buddy. I know your FIRST birthday was a few weeks ago. But between Daddy’s work schedule and the crud running through our house and everything else, your party came a little late. In fact, we had planned on celebrating early and chaos still ensued!

But this past weekend, we had a fun first birthday party for you! AND thanks to our friends at Disney, we had a fabulous #DisneySide theme.

We had gone to Disneyland for Sebby’s birthday in January, and are headed back next month (shhh) so I thought we’d give our favorite mouse some love.

We kept it simple because the kids just wanted to play with each other outside, since it was one of our first nice days after a winter of rain, we couldn’t blame them. DisneySide getting ready for guests.jpg

Our general party fare includes sushi, pizza, cupcakes and fruit.  Since this was a #DisneySide party, I also made some cheese sandwiches using some Mickey Mouse cookie cutters. Instant hit with the kids. They did not last long.

Edison had a great time with his friends and family who came to celebrate his 1st birthday! And he loved his birthday cupcake! Look how cute the kids all look in their Mickey Mouse ears!

There was so much fun in the box that Disney sent us to have our party, including new American Tourister carryon luggage which we are pretty darn excited about. The kids are already talking about saving their money to go to Disneyland, and our friends are too! We decided to share some of the Disney fun with the kids’ school, so I’ll be putting together DisneySide bags with some of the things we didn’t use at the party so they can have little classroom celebrations, including t-shirts to decorate, some photo paper to print pictures to share and extra party favors we didn’t hand out. And lucky for them, they’ll also get the Mickey Mouse pretzels I forgot I bought for Edison’s party!
