Have droid luggage, will travel.

First off, a big thank you to American Tourister sending my my sweet and sassy BB8 carryon luggage. He is the droid I’ve been looking for.

This is the Star Wars luggage I'm looking for.

In February we took the kids to Disneyland, and BB8 was our carryon luggage. He stored the kids iPads, changes of clothes and other basic essentials just in case the baggage claim gnomes did something with our large checked bag (because believe me, it’s happened!). The agent at the ticket counter started to say we could also check BB8, free of charge, since the flight was oversold, but once she saw his cuteness, she quickly said “Never mind, you don’t want to check that!” She was right, I didn’t.

I’m going to point out we travel as efficiently as possible for a family of 5, and I’m pretty happy that we can get our ultimate essentials packed in our American Tourister Star Wars luggage. An added bonus is even when his storage compartment is filled to the brim, he’s still easily rolled by my kids. It also was really easy to get into the overhead bin while wrangling everyone, the hard case doesn’t have any pockets to get caught, it slides in smoothly.

I’m very lucky that despite all of my travels with BB8 – we’ve been to Monterey, CA, the Salish Lodge and Spa, and then this weekend, the Embassy Suites in Bellevue WA, that the First Order hasn’t caught up with me because EVERYONE LOVES BB8. I’ve probably gotten over 100 compliments on him since he became my companion in February. I haven’t told him yet, but we’re taking him to Walt Disney World next month. I’m a bit worried, since I know Kylo Ren may be around, so I’ll count on my kids to use the Force to protect him.

In addition to being the perfect traveling companion for the kids, I also love BB8 for short overnight trips, whether for work, or a staycation for my husband and I. He’s the ideal size.

I’m looking forward to many many more adventures with him!
