No matter what your holiday fashion needs are, take into consideration the following tips while shopping for a new look!

Holiday Fashion Tips – Do’s and Don’ts

Some basic do’s for all occasions:

Wear all black. It’s classic. But add some surprise by mixing your textures and add a statement necklace.. This look is good for nearly any occasion.

Spending the holidays with family you never see? Dress to impress. Consider a black sheath dress for a fancier family dinner. Pair with a statement earring and dressy black shoes.

Going out to eat? Pair a tailored pant with a white oxford and sweater on top. Add some color to this classic look with a stylish handbag and shoes.

Shopping with the girls or by yourself? Mix a dressy piece with something casual. I’m not talking sweaters and sweatpants, but pair a sparkly top with a pair of jeans and ankle boots. You’ll be comfortable and look great. Plus, you won’t be weighed down by a lot of bulk while you shop!

Staying in? Comfort is key when you areat home. Opt for an oversize sweater and a pair of PJ-like bottoms or velvet leggings for a look that’s cozy yet still stylish. You’ll be presentable but fashionable if guests stop by.

Now that I’ve given you some great holiday fashion tips, here are a few holiday fashion don’ts:

Don’t become a part of the holiday decorations. You shouldn’t look like an ornament on the tree with too much glitter and glitz.

Don’t show too much skin. Just don’t.

Don’t get caught with nothing to wear. Monroe and Main has fabulous holiday looks for any budget or event.

Dress for the occasion. Some parties your favorite Christmas sweater and a pair of jeans is fine, other parties might mean sparkly shoes and a fabulous dress.
