I have a love for pie. I love to eat it, and occasionally make it. You know, from scratch. But sometimes time doesn't allow me to make my pies. I've been a fan of Mrs. Smith's pies for years. So when I heard that there were new Mrs. Smith's Signature Deep Dish pies I was pretty excited to try them.
The new Mrs. Smith's Signature Deep Dish pies are:
-Signature Deep Dish Dutch Apple Pie with Caramel Sauce
– Signature Deep Dish Cherry Pie with Butter Fudge Sauce
-Signature Deep Dish Peach Pie with Cream Cheese Icing
-Signature Deep Dish Pumpkin Pie with Cream Cheese Icing
They sound AMAZING don't they? I was so so so excited about trying the Dutch Apple Pie with Caramel Sauce. I had dreams of pairing it with French Vanilla ice cream (ok not really) and enjoying it with my husband after the kids went to bed. Savoring it's warm goodness.
You can't imagine how sad I was I couldn't find the pies at ANY of my local retailers! Rumor has it that Walmart Supercenters have them – but the closest one to me (even in Seattle) is a good 30-40 minute drive. So sad!
Since I had my heart set on pie, I picekd up a Mrs. Smith's Pre-Baked Cherry Pie from QFC. The pre-baked pies are pretty fabulous because they are ready in about 30 minutes – so perfect for that quick "I need pie" for dessert craving.
The pre-baked pie was pretty delicious, so I'm going to make sure that I have a cooler in my car so next time I'm near the Walmart I can pick up some of the Mrs. Smith's Signature Deep Dish pies and see what I've been missing!
