Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood, where Christopher Robin plays, you’ll find the enchanted neighborhood, of Christopher’s childhood days. A donkey named Eeyore is his friend, and Kanga and little Roo. There’s Rabbit, and Piglet, and there’s Owl, but most of all Winnie the Pooh.
That was all from memory, I did not look it up. So to say that I am a Pooh fan is a huge understatement. I LOVE Pooh. Friends from my middle school days will tell you I had an unnatural obsession with Tigger. (ahem)
I am really excited about Winnie the Pooh coming to the big screen this summer, July 15 in fact. I don’t think I will go so far as waiting in line for hours (ROTS) but I will be there.
So what makes this film so special? Other than hunny? Actress/Musician/Singer/Songwriter Zooey Deschanel (500 Days of Summer) is performing 3 songs.. Including her own take on the classic “Winnie the Pooh” theme song, “A Very Important Thing to Do” and the original end-credit song “So Long,” which was written by Deschanel and performed with She & Him bandmate M. Ward.
For the first time in 35 years, our favorite “bear with very little brain” will be shining on the silver screen, and I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I will.
