Pumpkin carving time with family!

My mom took the train out earlier this month to help watch the older kids while I attended the ABC Kids Expo with Edison. We wanted to plan some family activities while she was here, and since it’s nearly Halloween, I couldn’t think of anything more fun than carving pumpkins. I didn’t get home until late Friday night, so it really didn’t leave much time for us to have some family time, but today, before we took her to the train station, we carved our pumpkins with Pumpkin Masters pumpkin carving kits, which we’ve used in our family for years.

Pumpkin Carving Time

What I have always loved about these kits is they are an economical and safe way for me to carve pumpkins with my family. The same kits I used in college (well, not the SAME kits) are the ones I use with my kids. And they’ve come a long way from the simple saw blade and scoop I remember. And the saw blade? Even the kid kit has a safe option! Way better than using kitchen knifes.

Pumpkin Masters Kits

What’s so great about the Pumpkin Masters kits is there really is something for everyone – it makes it really easy to have fun with the family and the end result is pumpkins that really are a lot of fun. For me, while I like the IDEA of crazy intricate designs, I know it will never happen, so I totally leave that up to my husband. In fact, I went straight for the kitty face pumpkin from the kids kit, at my daughter’s request. Can you blame me? Hubby however, chose a more complicated design, though, perhaps he’s the smarter one because he also didn’t have to SCOOP out his pumpkin. (He may be on to something.)

Despite the fact we wouldn’t hand over the carving tools no matter how much Quincy insisted, the kids had a great time decorating their pumpkins. Even Edison joined in on the fun.

Kids with little pumpkins

Now that we’ve carved our pumpkins, I can only think about one thing – PUMPKIN SEEDS. Yum!

We had a great visit with my mom and lots of family fun carving pumpkins with Pumpkin Masters! With 10 more days until Halloween and lots of cool designs, I wouldn’t be surprised if one more pumpkin gets carved!
