Quincy and her My Own Story Time Pad

Holiday Gift Guide Picks – For the Toddler

When I showed Quincy the My Own Story Time Pad from LeapFrog she was pretty excited and she wanted me to open it. At least she kept saying “Da da da”  When I gave it to her, she scrutinized it and pressed a few buttons. She quickly realized it wasn’t her brother’s LeapPad and tried to put it back in it’s box. Then I showed her how cool it was, and with a little bit of convincing, she was happily playing with it.

Personalized play, stories and activities on a tablet just for little learners! Children can watch fun animations and listen to stories, emails and music as they explore the world of Scout & Friends. Parents can personalize the story time pad with their child’s name, favorites, customized “emails” from family and a music playlist. My Own Story Time Pad comes pre-loaded with 1 story, 1 email, and 3 songs, and holds up to 5 stories, 10 songs and 3 emails at a time.

my own story time pad, my first kindle

Like all LeapFrog products that enter our house, the My Own Story Time Pad became an instant hit. Both Quincy and Sebby have giggled at the stories, played songs and made music. I love like so many other toys from LeapFrog that it’s customizable, which makes it more personal and special for them.

The My Own Story Time Pad is great, it’s like it’s Quincy’s first Kindle. More than just a toy it’s educational too.

The Alphabet
Children who can recognize letters with confidence have an easier time learning letter sounds and word spellings.
Children learn the patterns of oral language and stories by listening to and repeating what they hear and read.
Pretend Play
Pretend play offers a creative outlet that strengthens a child’s understanding of the world as he acts out stories he knows and situations he observes in the adult world. As imagination grows, dramatic play becomes more complex.
Phonics skills
To read independently, children must understand the relationship between the sounds in spoken words and the letters that represent those sounds.

Quincy is a little younger than the recommended age of 2, but she’s still enjoying herself! She’ll have months if not years of learning fun with her My Own Story Time Pad!
