Last minute college basketball party? No problem! #SnackMadness #cbias

This is a sponsored post.

I’m an Ohio State grad so when I checked the college basketball schedule and saw that the Buckeyes were playing Arizona last Thursday I convinced my husband to have an impromptu basketball party for a few friends. Added bonus – these same friends could meet our new son, Edison, who was born on March 11. Woohoo, right?

We have a few friends and co-workers we love to invite to these last minute gatherings, well, ANY gathering. Our kids all get along great and it makes it a lot more fun for us grownups – we get to catch up while the kids play. It’s a win for everyone!

With the unofficial Facebook invites sent out, Edison and I headed to Walgreens and picked up some much needed party treats for our friends. It’s pretty much right around the corner so it was super convenient. In addition to some favorites like Coke Zero for my husband, regular Coca-Cola for me, and as my son refers to them “birthday” Reese’s I also found delicious appetizers from their Nice! brand and of course lots of chips! It was SnackMadness in the making in under 15 minutes!

Did I mention Walgreen’s is also “around the corner?” Ok, so maybe it’s about a mile, but if I really wanted to (and didn’t have all three with me) I could probably walk there. It really is that convenient. Add things like their Balance Rewards program (I saved almost $10! on my trip) and a fully stocked pharmacy – you can’t go wrong. You can learn about my shopping experience here.

With my groceries in hand Edison and I came back home to watch the pre-game and get ready for our basketball party.

Reese's, Coke Zero and Nice! appetizers = perfect last minute party!

I loved how easy the Nice! appetizers were to prepare and how delicious they were too! They didn’t last long at all. Note to self, next party, buy TWO boxes of each appetizer!

Sadly, there were some unexpected family emergencies and illnesses (like appendicitis! WHOA!), so not everyone could attend. Keep the cooties home I say! But we still had a few friends come by to watch Ohio State beat Arizona in what was a truly nail-biting game! And of course most importantly, people still got to meet Edison!

My beloved team has fallen off the bracket, and out of this years college basketball tournament, but if you’re catching the games tomorrow, you should head to Walgreens – you’ll be pleasantly surprised on how easy it is to pick up your favorite game day treats and beyond to plan the perfect last minute party!

  1. I haven’t tried their Nice! brand of products yet but with all the positive reviews, I’m going to try them soon! So sorry to hear about your Buckeyes (OK, maybe I’m not :))

  2. We have a Walgreens about 2 miles from us. It’s so convenient and they are so nice in there. Everything you need for the game would be there. Looks like you and your friends had fun!
