I don’t know about you, but I have good intentions of living well. You know, drinking those 8 glasses of water a day, getting my fruits and vegetables, vitamins and making sure I get enough exercise. Let’s be completely honest here, does anyone REALLY do all of those things, every day, without fail? Probably not, or if they do, they are some kind of super human. Or something.
I need pokes, prods and gentle reminders sometimes to keep me on track. Luckily, these days we have technology to help us with these things. Gone are the days of post it notes stuck to our bathroom mirrors, computer monitors and steering wheels.
Now, there’s an app for that.
For the past month, I’ve been using the WannaBeWell App from Life…supplemented to give me those little reminders. I even have my own coach to cheer me on, to remind me to take my daily vitamin and to take the stairs instead of the elevator to get a little more exercise. What’s fun is when I do these things, my coach cheers for me, and sometimes, just sometimes, I even get a virtual trophy. And who doesn’t love a trophy?
Features of the WannaBeWell, Life…supplemented lifesupplemented.org free mobile application include:
Create your own personalized Wellness Coach by choosing from a roster of customizable characters who will deliver daily motivational and educational messages to keep you moving towards a healthier lifestyle.
Receive ‘Healthy Mission’ tasks given by the Wellness Coach and collect trophies for accomplishing the tasks.
Explore the Supplement Resource Center, which offers users information about vitamins and other dietary supplements in a simple and easy to understand format. It houses thousands of articles and insights that help users make an informed dietary decision.
Set up reminders to take — or restock — your supplements.
One of the features of the is to take a quiz to determine whether you are an AlphaWELL or an OhWELL. I admit, I’m not an AlphaWELL (so sad!) but it gives me something to aspire to. The great thing about the app is it gives me tips on how to get there. Not only do I have my own coach, but there is also a blog that provides a forum around healthy diet, supplements and exercise from an expert panel of bloggers.
For even more information, The Supplement Resource Center houses thousands of articles and insights that help users make an informed decision about dietary supplements.
Want to have a little boost in becoming an AlphaWELL? Download the WannaBeWell app for your iPhone and get started.
