I love the fall. The weather gets cooler and our meal planning changes to cozy fall cooking - comfort food! The best comfort food is easy and delicious. We love shredded beef because it's so versatile, and so easy to make. For the past few years, we've been making shredded beef in the slow cooker. But I'm all about INSTANT GRATIFICATION so I've been tweaking my recipe to make shredded beef in a multi-cooker.
As usual, Safeway saves the day. The Open Nature® Grass-Fed Angus Chuck roast is just one of four ingredients to make my one-pot shredded beef. This recipe takes about an hour to make because you use your favorite multi-cooker or Instant Pot. I love that because it's such an easy recipe that we can spend more time with family. Beef not your thing? What about a delicious gumbo made from Waterfront BISTRO® seafood!
As much as we love slow-cooked shredded beef, we don't make it very often because it takes forever! Now with my new multi-cooker version, we're enjoying it in about an hour and I'm enjoying the flavor even more! My husband agrees, because he takes the leftovers to work. What's our favorite thing to make with shredded beef? Cheesesteaks! We put some shredded beef in our favorite non-stick pan and put some Lucerne provolone cheese on top. Then let it get melty and scoop it all onto a Signature SELECT™ Sourdough Hoagie Roll. It's basically the best game day food ever. 😉
4 Ingredient Shredded Beef
This shredded beef recipe is the perfect start to many of your cozy fall cooking recipes. You can make it in about an hour, which means more time with family and friends.
Ingredients for Shredded Beef
3-4 lb of Open Nature® Grass-Fed Angus chuck roast
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 tablespoon O Organics® olive oil
2 ½ cups O Organics® beef broth
How to make 4 ingredient Shredded Beef
Cut the roast into 4 -6 even pieces and rub all sides with salt.
Set your multi-cooker (Instant Pot) to the Sauté setting and heat olive oil in the pot for about 10 minutes.
Add the pieces of roast to the multi-cooker and brown on all sides, turning with tongs, about 10 minutes.
Press Cancel to end the Sauté and pour the broth over the beef. Close the lid and make sure the pressure-release valve is closed.
Cook at high pressure on Manual for 50 minutes, then let it sit for 10-15 minutes to allow for a natural release of the pressure. Using tongs, transfer the roast to a cutting board, and shred the meat with 2 forks, then put it back in the multi-cooker to keep it warm.
Now that you've made your shredded beef you can enjoy it in many different ways. Uses for shredded beef include cheesesteak sandwiches, tacos, burrito bowls, wraps, salads and more!

So simple, yet so good! Was thinking just standard pot roast looking for a recipe, but cheesesteak was an even better idea! I had to wing it a little as I only had a loaf of French bread, but that worked just fine. Yum!!

The best part about cooking a roast is how great the house smells when you are cooking it.
