This is a sponsored post about Homework Help Desk.
When I was in school, if I wanted homework help I had to stay after school or hire a tutor. It wasn’t always practical and sometimes it could be really time consuming just to get a simple answer. Times have certainly changed with school curriculums, expectations and technology.
This year, Quincy starts Kindergarten and Sebby will be in the Second Grade. Sebby has brought home various spelling sheets in the past year, but this year with him being in more mainstream lessons, I know the homework will be rolling in, and I confess, I’m a little nervous.
Why am I nervous? I’ll be honest. A lot of it has to do with Common Core. Because I don’t have a clue. Short of relearning math I need to find a better way to give my kids the homework help that they need.
I’ve been checking out new project by Get Schooled called Homework Help Desk. This new site is going to help ME help my kids with challenging homework in math, science, and English. Here’s what’s really cool – Homework Help Desk has tips to help your children from Kindergarten all the way to High School Seniors. It’s a one stop resource for students of all ages.
Homework Help Desk helps parents like me understand Common Core strategies and how are kids are learning the same concepts we did, but it’s being taught differently. You can ask questions, browse topics, watch videos and even get one on one help. There are practice problems too! It’s pretty great. I’m checking out the basic concepts for my kiddos, and I know it’s going to be super helpful when the kids start school in just a few weeks.
I struggled with homework as a kid, and I know for my own children, having a resource like Homework Help Desk at my fingertips is going to be a game changer.
