This May we will have owned our first home for three years. Any home owner knows a house is a continuous project, and this is especially true when you buy a fixer in Seattle. Since we’re on a budget, our home renovations have been slowly happening, and this spring, it’s about about making my kitchen more stylish. We live in what’s could be considered a mix of a craftsman and farmhouse style, the last big remodel on our house according to tax records was sometime in the 1940s. So I want to stick with looks that fit the house.
When I was at Walmart last week picking up some groceries I spied a ceramic chicken I pretty much needed to have. This wasn’t any ordinary chicken, but an AromaBreeze Fragrance System. What made this little Chickadee unique was that it’s waxless. Which means it’s safe around the kids and the cats. And who can resist a chicken? I knew she’d be a great fit in my new kitchen look, so she came home with me.
My kitchen is a hot mess, there’s storage, but it’s a bit off, my cabinets aren’t standard size so things don’t fit as they should. I just bought a new kitchen island (which is perfect for my new cordless Chickadee to live on) but it still needs some solutions to make it functional.
A sad moment last week was when my favorite teapot of 7 years went to teapot heaven. I was so sad. Not to mention, I am being forced to drink bagged tea (side note: there is nothing wrong with bagged tea, and I do drink it, but this girl has a routine!)
So what does a broken teapot have to do with a stylish kitchen makeover and fragrance warmers? Well, I mentioned to my mom about the teapot, and that I was going to replace it. My mom sends me a link to the cutest tea cozy. With roosters on it. Now mom did not know about my little Chickadee. So like any good daughter, I sent her a photo.
She responded in kind with iPhone photos of pictures of eggs and chickens. Do you see where this is going? Suddenly my simple chicken addition to my kitchen turned into a stylish kitchen makeover. Thanks mom.
My cordless (though it does have an optional cord) AromaBreeze Fragrance System has inspired a new look for my kitchen! AromaBreeze has a gel halo that sits on the warmer and a little fan to disperse the fragrance. Not only does the fragrance last longer than the wax, but there is no mess. And because it’s cordless, I can move it around easily. (Note: Do not use system on stove when stove is in use! That is not safe!)
And when it’s time to rip off my kitchen countertops and install my new pantry cabinets? Chickadee can easily live in the family room or bathroom where it’s safe for pets and kids!
