Dear Stevie,
You don't know me but I am a internet friend of your Mom, Kristin.. We met on BabyCenter and had a secret club. We were called the Bacon Girls (or something like that, I'll let your Mom tell you the name in secret.) Let me tell you how cool she is, how caring, how inspirational. She really is terrific. We were all so sad when you died. We cried with her. I was so sad I was never going to get to meet you.
She is so strong though, that she created this amazing thing called Faces of Loss, Faces of Hope. It's for Moms like her that have lost a wonderful baby like you. She's helped some many people Stevie, you would be so proud. She's taken her tears and sadness and made it something incredible.
Your first birthday is just around the corner, on May 8th. Your Mom posted about honoring you by a little dedication she's calling Stevie's Thirty Days of Doing Good. She's committed to "doing one simple act of good" in your name every day. Pretty inspirational if you ask me, and again, just showing what a loving and giving person your mom is.
So this is my act of good Stevie. I am making a donation to Faces of Loss, Faces of Hope. And I am hoping others will see my letter to you and they will want to donate too, or do another simple act of good. For you. Because you should be remembered.
Happy Birthday Stevie.
Love,
Kerri, your Mom's imaginary internet friend.
