A few weeks ago I told you about Comcast Cares Day, where over 3,000 volunteers from Comcast, along with their friends and family, support over 27 nonprofit organizations in Washington.
Make Change Happen
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County is part of the nation’s largest donor and volunteer-supported mentoring organization in which they believe that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life.
This past Saturday, alongside volunteers from the Comcast Spotlight team, I helped Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County prepare for their annual Dream Builders auction. The Dream Builders auction helps make dreams come true for kids in Snohomish County.
The Dream Builders Auction
Setting up an auction is a lot of work, and it isn’t possible without volunteers. In order to prepare for the auction on Saturday night, the displays for the auctions needed to be set up. Thanks to generous donations, it’s a big job – and we made it happen!
I have to say, it was pretty awesome to be involved. Getting all the tables set up for the silent auction was a lot of fun. We made sure to set up displays to entice guests to bid high to help Big Brothers Big Sisters! Of course we did! Bidding on Mariner’s swag AND tickets to the game is WAY more fun then just bidding on tickets, right?
I wish I could have stayed for the auction, because there were so many amazing auction items to choose from!
Helping with the Dream Builders auction for a few hours was a great way to be a small part of something really big. A snippet of my Saturday morning to make real change. Sign me up for next year!
Since you missed setting up for the Dream Builders Auction on Comcast Cares Day, consider signing up to be a volunteer to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County on an ongoing basis and make a difference in the life of a child!
