The day the Shred Sled arrived, I had a contractor at my house doing repair work. “What is THAT?” he asked I told him, “It’s a Shred Sled. I am reviewing it for my website.” “OH. COOL!” he says. And then…. “Can I try it?” Out the box it came, completely assembled and ready to go. Down the street he went. He came back a few minutes later, excited. He wanted to know how to get one, what was going to happen to mine etc…
Now, I haven’t been on anything that resembles a skateboard in about 20 years. So I hopped on. I did NOT go zooming down the street, but rather balanced in the safety of my front door. To my surprise it was pretty easy for me to figure out how to balance on the Shred Sled. Well, at least for a few seconds. I’m slowly getting the hang of it, but then, I’m a mommy! My husband, who has been skateboarding and snowboarding most of his life said he intuitively wanted to treat it like a skateboard and expressed some frustration, but also said once you really got going, he could see how it would corner like a snowboard.
Four inline wheels and a flexible center make the Shred Sled unique to other casterboards on the market. The Shred Sled allows you to move without pushing off with your feet, but rather getting a workout as you coordinate the movement of your arms and hips. As you balance and move on the on the Shred Sled, the pivoting caster wheels propel you forward. You can even do tricks and go uphill.
“This 4-wheel, dual-deck carve board makes it smoother and easier to start carving up the streets. Its fun and much easier to control than older 2-wheel generation boards. The 4-80mm polyurethane wheels and ABEC-5 Bearings are smoother and stronger and rarely need to be replaced. Due to the inline wheels, the Shred Sled offers the feel of snowboarding while skateboarding.”
The Shred Sled comes in three cool colors, red, blue and black. Additionally, the concave decks are provided to allow for better foot control, including a grip surface for traction. Go check out www.theshredsled.com to see more reviews, photos and videos of this hip new casterboard!
