While you are shopping and making lists of what to buy for summer camps, there are lots of things to consider. Ordering name labels should be at the top of the list. Camp is an awesome way to meet new friends, and see old ones. But a lot of kids at camps means a lot of similar sleeping bags, shoes, backpacks and water bottles.
Labeling things for summer camp
Most camps provide lists of what you need for summer camp. These lists will vary if you’re doing a day camp, sleepaway camp or the many themed summer camps available. Horse camp, sports camp, fishing camp — all of these may require specialty equipment that might not be provided. Be sure to check the camp website for information about special shoes, clothing or gear needed for the camp. And when you buy those specialty items, LABEL THEM with your child’s name. Luckily, using Name Bubbles Camp Labels means you won’t be writing their name over 100 times on all their camp gear.
If you want your kid’s things to come home from camp, it’s important to label everything. Putting names on everything makes it easier to know which of the four identical looking beach towels is belongs to your child. I know it might sound excessive but it is a great idea to label small things like toothpaste and other toiletries. Don’t forget to label washcloths as well.
Most multi-week sleep-away camps have a laundry service (which means labeling is vital!) so you don't need to pack outfits for the entire time. Even with a laundry service, pack extras of socks and underwear, because even if they are labeled, many will get lost. A name label will help return a camper’s favorite t-shirt to them. This means use custom camp labels for ALL the clothing, including socks, underwear, even shoes!
Things to label
Here are some of the items your child may take to camp that you will want to put labels on. Trust me on this, everyone shops at the same stores and everything looks the same. Obviously this is list is not meant to be limited, it’s just items that are frequently lost at camp or there is confusion on to ownership. I’m looking at you, water bottles!
- Toiletries
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Goggles
- Poncho
- Reusable water bottle
- Flashlight
Even if everything is labeled, don't expect to everything to make to make it home, especially socks and underwear. No one wants to claim the random clothing on the cabin floor, especially if it’s wet or muddy. You’ve been warned. That being said, it’s a great reason to not send favorite clothing to camp.
Name Bubbles Camp Label packs are extra durable labels for all of your kid’s camp gear. Name Bubbles Camp Labels packs are washable, sunblock and bug spray proof. They will also survive the dishwasher, microwave and freezer. Outstanding.
Right now, Name Bubbles is giving $1 for every Camp Labels purchase to Double H Ranch, their partner for Q2 2022. They hope to raise $10,500 to help send kids to camp!
