A big THANK YOU to Burlington for sponsoring this post, and helping me figure out what to pack for a blog conference (again).
Every year I say I’m not going to travel as much, or go to as many blog conferences as I did the year before, and then somehow, I find myself with 3 events in two months and of course, nothing to wear.
I know most blog conference packing posts list out the importance of gadgets, business cards and media kits, but really, you guys know all that right? Business cards, something to take photos with, something to blog on, and something to charge your phone. Extra cables don’t hurt.
Let’s be honest, one of my favorite things about going to blog conferences is it gets me out of mom clothes. It’s fun to get some new things to wear, but it’s even better to save money while doing it, so this week, I headed to Burlington for some new spring styles. I needed some pops of color to wear with my favorite red shoes, and Burlington has super cute styles up to 65% off department store prices every day. And that, is hard to beat. Plus, there are two stores near me to shop at!
Some tips: You might be tempted to BUY ALL THE SPRING STYLES. Don’t. Think about what you already have in your closet, what you’ll be doing and the weather where you’re going will be. I promise by doing this, your money will go a lot further and you’ll be able to get more cute things. You also don’t need to take an entire closet with you, but a few fabulous pieces. Try to find separates you can wear.
When you find cute heels while shopping, PUT THEM BACK. You want comfortable shoes at these events. I always wear red shoes when I go on press trips and conferences. It’s just my thing. So in a way, it limits my conference style, but it also forces me to really look through everything a place like Burlington has to offer and find great tops and skirts (and occasionally dresses).
I got a bunch of cute tops and some accessories! Check out my finds:
Another great reason to shop at Burlington for your next press trip or blog conference? Their support of women’s heart health through its partnership with WomenHeart:
o Customers can donate $1 or more at checkout to support women’s heart health through March 31st
o And for every dress purchased throughout the campaign, Burlington will donate $1, up to $25,000 to support WomenHeart whose mission is to educate and support women living with heart disease.
So, in addition to saving lots of money you can help support WomenHeart.
