You can take the girl out of the south, but you can’t take the south out of the girl. I spent some time living in South Carolina, and I developed an unhealthy relationship with praline pecans. So good. So sugary bad for you. I’ve been eyeing recipes on Pinterest for candied bacon, so when I was asked to come up with a recipe for Hormel Pepperoni, my mind immediately went to a praline style pepperoni chip. Because hello. Sweet and spicy? Oh yes!
I’m going to warn you right now. Make a small batch of these. Do not be tempted to double the recipe – because if you like candied bacon, you’ll want to try one of my new favorite pepperoni recipe ideas.
If you need a fun and easy treat to take to a holiday party, or if you need to whip something up because you have unexpected guests, you can make these in under 10 minutes (aside from preheating your oven) Put them in a fun serving dish or one of those french fry things (like I did) and you’re good to go!
Candied Nut Pepperoni

1/2 cup crushed pecans
30-40 Hormel Pepperoni slices

Mix brown sugar and pecans until well combined.
Line a medium size baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cover the sheet with pepperoni slices – do not overlap.
Sprinkle the brown sugar nut mixture evenly over the pepperoni slices.
Bake for 6-8 minutes.
DO NOT OVER BAKE
Remove from oven and allow sheet to cool on baking rack. Your pepperoni will continue to crisp.

This is great! I’m making pepperoni cupcakes and used your recipe as a basis for my topping. It’s great! I added cinnamon and cayenne to the mix for the candied pepperoni and topped a molasses cupcake. I’ll have the recipe up on Monday and link to you.
