Why is a Hawaiian Shaved Ice Machine the perfect gift idea?

I don’t know about you, but my kids love the idea of shaved ice year-round, so I knew when I learned about the Hawaiian Shaved Ice Machine, I had to get one. The thing is, I had NO idea how versatile shaved ice is! Shaved ice is more than just flavored syrup and fluffy ice. Not there is anything wrong with that, but it’s more than just the summer treat we are all familiar with! No judgment here if you use your shaved ice machine to make a frozen margarita!

There are lots of great shave ice machine options to choose from, and lots of great flavors. There are even professional machines you can get for your office party!

We are really enjoying out new HomePro Ice Shaver, it’s such a fun way to enjoy shaved ice year round. The kids were thrilled to make their own shaved ice cups (even though I made a total mess of them, HAHA).

What is the difference between Hawaiian shaved ice and snow cones?

Comparing Hawaiian shave ice to snow cones is like comparing apples to oranges. The main difference is the texture of the ice. Snow cones are made with crushed ice that is molded into a ball and then topped with syrup. Hawaiian shaved ice is ice that it is shaved into a fluffy, fine consistency. The thin ice shavings of ice can absorb syrups better than crushed ice, which means they won’t collect in the bottom of your bowl or cone.

Can you use regular ice in a Hawaiian shaved ice machine?

While you can use “household ice cubes” from your refrigerator’s ice machine instead of ice blocks from the provided molds, our shaved ie will not be as fluffy.

How do you make shaved ice fluffy?

The trick to making your shaved ice fluffy is to let your ice blocks thaw for approximately 5-7 minutes before using it in your Hawaiian Shaved Ice Machine. This will allow your ice to have a fine snowlike consistency. It really makes a big difference. My kids were so impressed with how much it looked like snow.

How do you make shaved ice last longer?

The trick to make your shaved ice last longer and not freeze together is to stir it often so it doesn’t freeze solid. Some people do this by switching it to the refrigerator for a short time after stirring to keep the Hawaiian shave ice soft.

What can you serve with shaved ice?

There are Hawaiian Shaved Ice Syrups in 90 different flavors, you can choose from yummy classics like cherry, pina colada, lemon-lime or watermelon. There are also super popular flavors like tigers-blood, or my youngest’s favorite, root beer.

In addition to syrups, you can combine shaved ice with marshmallow creme or ice cream for a fun dessert. Shaved ice is fun with sodas too! And of course, grownups can used shaved ice in their favorite cocktails.

I’m telling you, Hawaiian Shaved Ice is the perfect holiday gift!
