Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters EVERYWHERE today. Last night, I attended a special fan event with my husband and some of our friends.
Let me just say... OMG Star Wars...
We're going back tonight for another showing, and have plans to take our kids to the Sensory Screening in our area next week.
I'm well aware that not everyone will get to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi opening weekend, and I certainly don't want to ruin it for you. But I wanted to take a few minutes to share how much I loved Episode 8 (it rivals Empire IMO) and encourage you to go see it as soon as possible.
You'll laugh, you'll cry. You will have hope. It is after all, Star Wars.
The Last Jedi: Spoiler Free
1.) It's longer than The Force Awakens. This means a few things. Maybe skip that jumbo cup of soda, or if you must have the special edition Star Wars cup, don't drink all of it. Also consider that at over 2 hours, you may not to bring the kiddos to the late night showing.
2.) Speaking of kids, if you have sensitive ones, know that there's significant explosions, just like any Star Wars movie. The Last Jedi also touches briefly on animal cruelty, something to consider for young minds. Be prepared to talk about it.
3. ) This is not going to go the way that you think ... Some questions lingering from The Force Awakens are answered, and some are not. You will leave wanting to know more, and knowing that Episode 9 is too far away.
4.) Porgs. Who doesn't love Porgs?
5.) You will still get chills when the music starts. It happens every time to me. In Star Wars, the music of John Williams tells a story, so pay attention to it.
