Have you ever taken a staycation in your own city? It's one of my favorite things to do. Whether we're taking the kids on an adventure, or my husband and I are getting a much needed getaway, I love them. Staycations allow me to explore my city and they ALMOST satisfy my travel bug. A few weeks ago we were guests at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington. They provided us with a complementary stay.
Our stay at the Hyatt Regency
The Hyatt Regency Lake Washington is just south of Seattle, located on the shores of Lake Washington with distant views of the Seattle skyline. This southend upscale hotel is conveniently located a mile from Interstate 405, which makes for easy access to Seattle, the Eastside and Seattle Tacoma International Airport. The location makes it ideal for locals getting away and visitors to the city who don't necessarily want to stay downtown.
The rooms at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington
It's just us, so we enjoyed a king sized bed in our corner room at the Hyatt. With a lake view and a seating area, it was the perfect room for two.
All rooms come with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, minifridges and Keurig coffeemakers. I love how our room had a separate entry way that incorporated the mini-frige, safe and coffee area as well as the closet.
Other features we appreciated were the motion sensor nightlights built into the bedstands and the black out shades, plus a coat hook right at the entry way.
In addition to lake views, skyline views are also available in some rooms. If you want something a little fancier, ask about booking a suite with a terrace! Lots of room options are available so be sure to ask.
Getting a weekend away is all about having a uninterrupted bath or shower. The spacious bathrooms offer both - something worth taking advantage of. I'm all about a good soaking tub. Always. The bathroom also had a private toilet area and separate vanity, two things I like when traveling.
The Regency Club
If you've booked a Club level room, you'll have access to The Regency Club. Club level rooms are by far one of my favorite travel amenities.
From breakfast to dinner or late night snacks, plus access to various beverages during the day, it's a great perk of travel. The Regency Club at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington offered ample seating, water views and multiple televisions to take in sports, news and more. Curl up with a glass of wine by a fireplace and watch the seaplanes land on Lake Washington.
Dining at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington
Water's Table is the in-house restaurant at Hyatt Regency Lake Washington and it is NOT to be missed. Offering a delightful array of choices, this farm to table restaurant will tantalize your tastebuds no matter what time of day you are dining.
Don't have time to sit down to eat, consider ordering room service or picking up a sandwich from their 24-7 market. Whether you're taking a sandwich back to your room or before you head out to explore a local park, The Market has lots of food and beverage choices. If you're traveling from out of the area, they have a small gift area. Plus, if you loved that glass of Canvas Merlot you had in The Regency Club, you can buy a bottle at The Market.
The Spa and Gym at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington
Need to relax a bit during your stay? The new Tranquil Waters Day Spa offers limited services. I love a good massage but I highly recommend booking a facial! My husband and I both had one - we left our appointments feeling relaxed and our skin felt amazing. Make sure to book your spa appointment early as they are quite popular and times are limited.
The Hyatt Regency Lake Washington has a a 24-hour gym and an indoor saltwater pool if you want to get a work out in during your visit.
Location Location Location
Whether you want to enjoy the park adjacent to the hotel, or take in a movie at The Landing, there are plenty of local entertainment options.
Plan your next conference or party at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington
The night we arrived at our hotel, they were hosting a seated dinner for 600. The following night a charity gala AND a wedding at midnight. With 60,000 square feet of meeting space, the events team at the Hyatt Regency is ready to help you plan your event. While we didn't personally didn't attend any of the events during our stay, we know they went off without a hitch. Most of all, our visit was never disrupted by them and our room stayed quiet!
Book your next hotel stay at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington
We're already thinking about our next trip back to the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington. Next time though, we're pretty sure we want to come by sea plane. The hotel does offer valet parking too, for your convenience.

We love a fun staycation but definitely don't do it often enough. The kids get so excited to stay in a hotel. Loving this Hyatt, it looks like you had a wonderful experience. Thanks for the recommendation.

I can't get over that corner room view! And the club looks like a fun spot to hang out with a glass of wine at night!

I love a good staycation. And yes, location is key!
