Why I switched to Xfinity Mobile

I’ve been a Comcast subscriber since 2002. Equally set in my ways, until last Friday, I had the same (expensive) Unlimited Data plan with a popular network since 2009. Every so often I’d get a notice that they’d be increasing my rate. BUT I use a LOT OF DATA as a blogger, so I kept paying the bill.

Then Apple announced the new iPhone 11 Pro Max. I’ve been using the 7plus since the day it came out, and I knew I wanted the new cameras, the battery life, all of the bells and whistles. The thing is, with what I was paying with my monthly cell phone bill, I couldn’t justify the cost.

Remember that part about me being a Comcast subscriber? I had never thought about switching to Xfinity Mobile. This post is sponsored by Comcast, but all of the opinions, experiences and yes, even my Xfinity Mobile bill are my own.

The Xfinity Store Experience

On Friday I went to the Xfinity store at Northgate Mall to talk them about my current service to make sure I was getting the best value and see if there were any promotions I might want to take advantage of. I love that I can do this in person versus on the phone. The benefit of being in store is I can get all of my questions answered plus I’m not waiting on hold for the next available agent. Being in store is a truly immersive experience.

While I was there, I asked Oliver, the store manager, about Xfinity Mobile. He was happy to answer all of my questions, and then some, and I made the switch. I’m now a new Xfinity Mobile subscriber, and you could be too!

Oliver also helped me evaluate my current Xfinity Triple Play service to make sure I was getting the most of it’s features and that I had the best plan for my household. He was a real help.

Why I switched to Xfinity Mobile

Xfinity Mobile is only available to Comcast’s Internet customers.

The biggest reason I made the switch to Xfinity Mobile is I am already a Comcast subscriber. I’m big on brand loyalty, and when something works, I stick with it. Xfinity Mobile isn’t part of any of their packages, but I do get a small bill discount for having a Triple Play plan AND an Xfinity Mobile Account. I’m all about savings.

A plan to suit my needs

Xfinity Mobile has plans to suit everyone’s needs. I have an unlimited data plan for $45 a month. That’s about 30% of the cost of my former plan. Yes. I said 30%. Not 30% less than, 30% of the old cost.

If I want to add my oldest to my plan? No problem. There are several data options for shared lines. By the way, talk and text is FREE.

Available plans include by the gig ($12 per GB of data) or unlimited data ($45 a month). There are NO access fees for up to five lines. These prices do not include taxes and fees, which of course will vary from state to state.

Nationwide Coverage

The wireless service relies on Verizon’s network plus it has millions of secure Xfinity WiFi hotspots. Which means I don’t ever have to worry about being connected.

Easy bill payments

I love that I can manage my monthly bill right on the Xfinity Mobile app. I can see my data usage, my billing cycle, how many payments I have left on my phone and more. If I had multiple lines on my account, I could manage those too. As always, if my questions go beyond what is in the app, I can go to my neighborhood Xfinity store.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max

Ok, so while I can get the iPhone 11 on any carrier (unlike 10 years ago when I got my first iPhone) I was able to take advantage of a super sweet Xfinity Mobile offer.

I’m getting $250 back from Xfinity because I bought a new iPhone and changed carriers. Restrictions do apply, and this offer is through 10/27/19. See the Xfinity Mobile website for details, or visit your local Xfinity store. (My personal recommendation.)

Even with buying a new iPhone Pro Max, and adding monthly payments to my new Unlimited Data Plan, my new cell phone bill is still drastically lower than my old one.

Your local Xfinity store may have select iPhone 11s in stock (just give them a call) or they can have one sent to your house. Pricing will depend on which model you choose. It is that easy.

Do I have to have an iPhone to use Xfinity Mobile?

Obviously I’m an Apple fan, but android users can also subscribe to Xfinity mobile. It’s just unlikely you will see me using one. 🙂 Have an iPhone 6, Galaxy S8, or something newer? Bring it to Xfinity Mobile with no fees. Just check your device compatibility.

Xfinity Mobile also sells tablets (all iPad models) and smartwatches (all Apple Watches) in addition to other mobile accessories like cases and charging pads. Please don’t get a fancy new phone without a case to protect it.

What are you waiting for? Join Xfinity Mobile today!

Stop in your neighborhood Xfinity store to learn more, and get a hands on experience.
