Asparagus wrapped in baconI love using my airfryer to cook bacon. A few years ago, I made a BBQ bacon with a recipe from Gordon Ramsey. On a quest to come up with delicious and appetizers, I thought I'd cook Aspargus wrapped in bacon in the airfryer. I was optimistic that airfryer asparagus would be a success. I wasn't wrong.

I made this  using the PowerXL Air Fryer Pro  that was sent to me for the purpose of this recipe.

This recipe makes 4 appetizer servings.

    Ingredients for bacon wrapped asparagus

    12 stalks of asparagus
    4 slices thick cut bacon
    1 ½ tablespoons olive oil
    1 tablespoon brown sugar
    ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Step by step Instructions for Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

Preheat your air fryer to 400°F
Prepare asparagus by breaking it at stem naturally. You can use frozen or fresh asparagus.
Mix the oil, sugar and garlic pepper in a small bowl, it will look like a "sugar scrub."
asparagus with bowl of sugar and oil
Coat asparagus with the sugar and oil mixture.
    coated asparagus
Wrap one piece of bacon around three stalks of asparagus. Secure the bacon with a toothpick if desired.

Place the bacon wrapped asparagus on on of the mesh air fryer trays. Then carefully slide the tray in the in your preheated air fryer and cook for 15-20 minutes until desired crispness.

Carefully remove tray from oven and let cook briefly before serving.

This asparagus wrapped in bacon is the perfect size for an appetizer or side dish. It's easily doubled too!
