This roasted pears recipe is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Febreze inspired by fall scents.
I love everything about fall. The cooler weather, the changing leaves. The impulse to put the big kids on the bus, close my laptop, throw something delicious in the oven and enjoy a cup of tea while it bakes, letting the aromas of cinnamon and vanilla waft through my home.
Confession: Sadly it's not always practical to close the laptop. A girl has deadlines. So sadly I won't always have the smells of fall drifting from my oven.
BUT...
Febreze® stepped in. There is a new Febreze Home Harvest Collection available at Walmart. Febreze® sent me a scentspiration box with some of their products and some fun fall inspired activities to try. Not only are the activities fun - from recipes to decor, the box is really stinkin' cute! It's a little barn that Quincy is going to be over the moon for as soon as she realizes I don't "need" it for this blog post anymore.
Seriously, how cute is this?
I'm a simple girl when it comes to scents, so I like that Febreze has "plain ol vanilla" for me. Ok, so it's not entirely plain, it's more like a Vanilla Latte, but still, they keep it simple! I love that because if I am cooking, the scents complement each other rather than clash with each other. It's pretty great.
Have you tried the Febreze Home Harvest Collection? There is no better way to welcome the fall then with the scents of Toasted Almond, Sugared Cranberry, Spiced Pear, Vanilla Latte and Autumn Harvest! Whether it's an air fresher, a wall plug in, a car freshener a candle or something else, these scents of all are sure to inspire you!
They inspired me! Check out my recipe for Roasted Pears, inspired from a recipe sent to me in my scentspiration box!
Roasted Pears
Ingredients
3 Pears
1 tablespoon lemon juice
⅓ cup apple or pear juice
⅓ cup packed brown sugar
½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ cup pecans
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400.
2. Core pears and cut in half. Scoop out any remaining core bits. Place in a baking dish and sprinkle with lemon juice. This will help them from browning.
3. Combine apple juice, brown sugar and cinnamon in a sauce pan over medium high heat and stir gently until the sugar dissolves.
4. Pour about half of the mixture over your pears and place them in the oven. Bake for about 30 minutes, periodically spooning the sauce over the pears.
5. Remove from oven and sprinkle pecans on top and serve with remaining sauce. Add some vanilla ice cream or greek yogurt and enjoy!
